Demonstrating and Promoting various Indian Martial Arts

Indian martial arts underwent a period of decline after the full establishment of British colonial rule in the 19th century.

It is not necessary that a war should be won solely by strength, the intellect and mind should also be equally strong. This is because the game of war is not only played at the physical level but is also played at psychological and intellectual levels. Thus, it is essential to learn the ancient tactics of warfare and acquire training at an apt place.

Due to the recent life-staking competitive era and irregular lifestyle, the youth has become frustrated. This frustration has caused youngsters to neglect their health, the consequences of which can now be witnessed at large.

At such a time, the multifaceted “Ancient Indian Balvidya” that revives our body, mind and intellect, will maintain their physical fitness. Besides, an impetus to mind as well as intellect will help them achieve success easily in their respective field of work.

Adimurai

Adimurai is a Tamil martial art. The name is a portmanteau in the Tamil language where adi means "to hit or strike" and murai means method or procedure.

Gatka

Gatka is the name of an martial art associated with the Sikhs of the Punjab and the Tanoli and Gujjar communities .It is a style of stick-fighting, with wooden sticks intended to simulate swords.

Huyen langlon

Huyen langlon is an martial art from Manipur. In the Meitei language, huyen means war while langlon or langlong can mean net, knowledge or art. Huyen langlon consists of two main components: thang-ta (armed combat) and sarit sarak (unarmed fighting).

Kalaripayattu

Kalaripayattu, also known simply as Kalari, is an martial art and fighting style that originated in modern-day Kerala.

Mardani khel

Mardani khel is an armed martial art from Maharashtra and Western Parts of India. It is particularly known for its use of the uniquely Indian patta (sword) and vita (corded lance).

Shastar Vidya

Shastar Vidya uses tactical positioning and body mechanics. The basis of Shastar Vidya is a five-step movement which includes advancing on the opponent; hitting his flank, deflection of incoming blows, taking a commanding position and striking. As a full combat martial art it also includes both unarmed and armed combat techniques using swords, clubs, sticks, spears, daggers and other weapons.

Silambam is a weapon-based martial art originating in modern-day Tamil Nadu

Sqay

Sqay is an martial arts form of sword-fighting originating in the Kashmir. It is governed by the Sqay Federation of India.

Musti-Yuddha is a traditional combat sport originating from the Indian subcontinent. The term literally means "fist combat", from the Sanskrit words mu??i (fist) and yuddha

Malla-yuddha

Malla-yuddha is the traditional form of combat-wrestling originating from the Indian subcontinent. Malla-yuddha incorporates grappling, joint-breaking, punching, biting, choking and pressure point striking.
